Hi, I'm Wiebke. If we've met somewhere around the world, chances are you know me as Wieby.

​

For more than 20 years, I've been working as a lawyer. But I knew pretty early on that there were more exciting things I wanted to explore than contracts, negotiations, and legal advice. I didn't have one big plan. It was a series of small steps, and the path was anything but straight.

​

In 2013, I headed to Malawi to volunteer at an orphan care centre before solo backpacking through Tanzania and Uganda. Seeing the gorillas in Uganda was a moment I'll never forget. Their calm gaze felt as if they were looking straight through you and simply saying: "You're enough, just as you are."

Africa has felt a little like home ever since. Later, what was meant to be eight weeks in Cape Town turned into almost seven years. Along the way, I studied Organisational Psychology, trained as a coach and eventually a long-held wish came true: I became a mum. My love for Africa's colours, wildlife, endless skies, and sense of freedom has found its way into wild star.

I've always loved creating and putting ideas onto paper. Writing things down helps me think, dream, and make sense of things. For four years, I designed, tested, and improved my own planner, combining everyday life with dreams, goals, reflection, and the bigger picture. Then I met my incredibly talented designer, and together we started turning my ideas into real products.

And that's how wild star began.
